Redus Allen Evans, 62, of Athens, died Friday, April 14, 2006, at his residence. He was employed at the International Paper Mill in Courtland. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
He was preceded in death by his parents Bee and Vona Evans; and one son, Craig Allen Evans.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Eaves) Evans of Athens; two daughters, Carla Evans and Lawanda Ball, both of Athens; two sons, Stanley Evans of Cornersville, Tenn., and Randy Evans of Goodsprings, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Jesse Evans of Cornersville, Allison Brooks of Athens, Tracie Evans and Troy Evans, both of Goodsprings; five sisters, Genell Bailey, Dianne Conley, Beth Worthey, all of Athens, Virginia Day of Prospect, Tenn., and Helen Taylor of Washington; his step-mother, Antate Evans of Athens; and several nieces and nephews.
