Jimmy Allen Snyder
SHINNSTON — Jimmy Allen Snyder, 67, of Shinnston, died at 1:15 p.m. on Friday, September 22, 2006, at the Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
He was born April 29, 1939, in Shinnston, a son of the late Walter Carson Snyder and Lora B. Vanscoy Snyder.
Mr. Snyder is survived by his stepson, Gregory Scott Knight of Florida; 2 sisters, Evelyn Lockhart and her husband Dallas of Newark, OH, and Sandra Carole Gump and her husband Jack of Valparaiso, IN; ex-wife, Saundra Knight of Spelter; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great- and great-great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 brothers; 3 sisters; grandparents; and numerous aunts and uncles.
Mr. Snyder was employed by Elder-Beerman as a salesman. He served our country in the U.S. Army.
Friends were received at the Harmer Funeral Home, Shinnston, on Sunday from 2-6 p.m. and will be received Monday from 1-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 26, 2006, at 1 p.m., with Pastor Brian Plum officiating. Interment will follow at the Shinnston Masonic Cemetery.
