Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601-38th Avenue, Moline, IL. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, December 8, 2014, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
Wesley was born on July 25, 1912, in Moline, IL, the son of Freemont and Myrtle Melissia Lambert Pierce. He married Helen Berry, and she preceded him in death on September 28, 1991.
Wesley was employed as the Main Switchboard Operator by Iowa-Illinois Gas and Electric Company for forty-three years. In his younger years, he worked on steam river boats. Wesley played semi-pro football. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and loved to tinker. He raised white pigeons and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
