Mr. Adams was born on 24 Feb 1922 in Troutdale, Virginia to the late Alex and Mattie Hash Adams. He was an employee of Maxwell House Coffee in Hoboken, New Jersey, and worked with the CCC in building Hungry Mother State Park in Marion, Virginia. He was a member of the United States Coast Guard during WWII.
Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Claire Halecki Adams.
He is survived by three daughters, Denise Adams of Troutdale, Virginia, Gloria Maier of Fords, New Jersey, and Lorraine Roszkowski of Troutdale, Virginia; one son, Allen Adams and wife Ruby of Marion, Virginia; one sister, Louise Catron of Cookeville, Tennessee; six grandchildren, Kim Testerman, Nikki Keesling, Crystal Maier, Katie Maier, Eric Roszkowski, and Kevin Roszkowski; and three great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, 21 Aug 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel in Marion, Virginia with Rev. Neville Mozingo officiating. A private burial will be held in Troutdale, Virginia. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, 20 Aug 2008 at Seaver-Brown Chapel from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
