Services for former Redding resident Bryan "Clint" Cannon, 84, of Bonita were at the staging area at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego.

Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Yreka at a later date.

The Rev. George Scipone of Bayview Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Chula Vista will officiate.

Mr. Cannon died at Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center in Chula Vista.

Born in Arkansas, he moved to Shasta County about 1968 before moving to Bonita late last year.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, the Korean War. and the Vietnam War, and recived a Purple Heart. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association, Veterans of Foreign War Post 9650 in Anderson and the California Conservation Corps.

Survivors include son, Thomas of Montgomery, Alabama; daughter, Terry Adsit of San Diego; stepdaughters, Juliette Black of Portland, Oregon and Hazel Hughes of Redding; brother, Don of Yucca Valley; stepbrother, Bob Dalvell of Weed; stepsister, Babe Wheeler of Montague; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
