Duane C. Vander Linden, 70, of Otley, passed away April 1, at Pella Regional Health Center in Pella, Iowa.
Duane C. Vander Linden was born February 27, 1932, near Pella to Clarence H. and Margaret (Vande Voort) Vander Linden. He graduated from Pella High School in 1949.
He married Emma Joan "Joey" Vos of Otley on May 27, 1950, in Pella. He farmed all his life; since 1958 he had farmed south of Monroe until retiring. He enjoyed farming and camping. He was a former member of First Reformed Church and Second Christian Reformed Church in Pella, and was a charter member of Trinity Reformed Church in Pella.
He is survived by his wife, Joey of Otley; a son and daughter-in-law: David J. and Connie (De Zwarte) Vander Linden and their children Tyler, Cole and Mallory of Otley; a daughter and son-in-law: Judith D. and Brad Woody and children Jordan and Brady of Monroe; a granddaughter, Amy Dee (Vander Linden) O'Brien of Norwalk; a daughter-in-law and husband: Carol Beth (Vander Waal Vander Linden) and Dave O'Brien of Norwalk and their children Michael and Kristin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Douglas J. Vander Linden; his brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Verna (Heyveld) Vander Linden; his wife's siblings and spouses: Donald and Dorothy Vos of Glendale, Arizona, Wilma (Vos) Blanke of Pella, Dorcas (Vos) King of Lakewood, Colorado, Sib (Vos) and Harold Van Loozenoord of Sun City, Arizona, and Bill and Jerre Vos of Greeley, Colorado.
