KERRVILLE — Kenneth J. Way, 83, of Kerrville, went peacefully to be with our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 24, 2013, surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren.
He was born in Snyder, Texas, on June 27, 1929, to John and Ethel Way.
He was owner of Way's Trading Post for more than 25 years. He was a God-fearing man who loved life, music, fishing and above all, his family.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Betty Way; one sister, Sylvia and Roger Casavant of Kerrville; four children, Jane Way of Kerrville, Kathy and Cecil McGehee, Twila and Ronny Rotge of Kerrville and Bonnie and Jimmy Crider of Oxford, Ark.; five grandchildren, Buddy McGehee of San Antonio, Tammy and Robert Haney of Kerrville, Scott and Brooke Rotge of Ingram, Christi Crider of Melbourne, Ark., and Sean Rotge of Kerrville; seven great-grandchildren, Dustin McGehee, Tori McDaniels, Amber Haney, Brittany Haney, Jaxson Rotge, Bennett Blankenship and Carly Jane Blankenship; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Jack Way, Eldon Way and Edward Way; one sister, Evelyn Morgan; and a granddaughter, Jimmie Michelle Crider.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 27, 2013, at Grimes Funeral Chapels, officiated by Pastor Del Way. Burial will follow in the Nichols Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Grimes Funeral Chapels of Kerrville.
