Esther Alma Marie Meyer, 95 years of age, of Beatrice, Nebraska formerly of Plymouth, Nebraska died at Homestead House in Beatrice on Tuesday morning, March 28, 2006. She was born on January 19, 1911 at rural DeWitt, Nebraska and graduated from Fairbury High School in 1929. She was married to Arnold Meyer on May 6, 1934 at Plymouth, Nebraska and they lived and farmed west of Plymouth for 42 years until his retirement in 1976. They moved into Plymouth in 1987. She taught country school at rural Plymouth for a short time. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church of rural Plymouth, Nebraska and was a member of Ladies Aid, Mission Circle, church choir and was a past Sunday School teacher. She and her husband served faithfully as church janitors for many years. She was also a member of the Peppy Pioneers Extension Club and the Silver Circle both of Plymouth. She enjoyed reading, gardening, raising flowers and quilting.

Survivors include three sons, James R. Meyer and his wife Gladys of Lincoln, Nebraska, Dale A. Meyer and his wife Arlene of Beatrice, Nebraska and Fred A. Meyer and his wife Debra of Plymouth, Nebraska. One daughter-in-law, Sharon Meyer of Kalkaska, Michigan. 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren. One sister, Louise Milius of Fairbury, Nebraska. Two sisters-in-law, Arlene Blobaum of Beatrice, Nebraska and Lois Blobaum of Blair, Nebraska. One brother-in-law, Martin Meyer and his wife Louise of Loveland, Colorado. Many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman C. and Anna Spilker Blobaum, her husband, Arnold who died on March 12, 1997, one daughter, Charlotte Petersen, one son, Gerald L. Meyer, three sisters, Marie Schultz, Alma Hummel and Martha Powers, four brothers Alfred, Werner, Victor and Robert Blobaum.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 31, 2006 at 10:30 A.M. at the Peace Lutheran Church of rural Plymouth, Nebraska with Maynard Kellerman, PMA officiating. Burial will be in the Peace Lutheran Cemetery of rural Plymouth, Nebraska. A family prayer service will be held at 10:15 A.M. on Friday in the church basement. A memorial has been established to the Peace Lutheran Church with the church elders in charge. The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice, Nebraska from 1:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Wednesday and at the Fox Funeral Home of Plymouth, Nebraska from 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. Thursday and then on Friday at the church one hour preceding the services.
