Shreveport, LA Don Michael Chapman Sr. was born February 7, 1938 in Wisner, LA and passed away in Shreveport, LA December 4, 2014. He is preceded in death by his father Ralph Chapman, mother Flora Thogmartin, and by his first wife Carolyn Jackson Chapman.

He is survived by his wife Jeaniece Pickett Chapman, his son Don Michael Chapman Jr., daughter Jill Bialas Sharp and husband Rob and his cherished grandchildren: Martin Milner, Miranda Milner, Cody Chapman, and Caley Chapman. brothers Larry Chapman and Marty Thogmartin.

Don was first and foremost a child of God , a beloved husband, loving father/grandfather, a brother, patriot, businessman, community servant, and a man of conviction!

Don served his country as a photographer in the United Stated Navy, upon coming home and starting a family he was an ambitious businessman with many ventures, but most well known for Don's Manufacturing of Portable Buildings. Later in in life he served on the Board of Directors for the Desoto Parish Fire Department. Don was an active member of Gloster Baptist Church where he and Jeaniece attended.

Don was a loving, loyal man that was committed to his God, his family, his country, and his community. He will be greatly missed, but his family celebrates his life, legacy, and home-going with our Lord. Don went home after complications recovering from a recent stroke. Visitation will be Sunday December 7, 2014 from 4:00 - 6:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. The Funeral will be held Monday December 8, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Centuries Memorial Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Ron McCellan. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park.
