Faustino, Sr. was a pharmacist in Matanzas when his store was burned by Cuban rebels. The family moved to Pinar del Rio where Ramon was born.
Ramon had three sisters, Evelia Rendueles Dorrego who died in Cuba, Matilde Rendueles Acosta who died in Cuba and Augustina Angelica Rendueles Rodriguez who died in Miami in 1974. He had two brothers that immigrated to Key West with him in 1904, Faustino Roberto Rendueles and Anselmo who both died in Key West and are buried in the Key West Cemetery. He was a cigar maker and tobacco selector.
