Lola Jane Banks Hopkins, 91, of Salem, and formerly of Bristol, Va., died on Thursday, March 18, 2004.
She was a daughter of the late Laffette and Mary Craft Banks. She was also preceded in death by four brothers; three sisters; and her beloved husband of 52 years, Roy E. Hopkins, who died on March 5, 1986.
Her surviving family includes her daughter and son-in-law, Farene and Mack Bostic; granddaughter, Leisia Renette Cooley and husband, Melvin; grandsons, Jonathan Mack Bostic, Mark Alan Bostic and wife Karin, Joel Hopkins Bostic and wife Christine; seven great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, six stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 20, 2004 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 21, 2004 at 2 p.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel in Salem with Rev. Travis Oswald officiating.
Interment will take place on Monday, March 22, 2004 at 1 p.m. in Mountain View Cemetery in Bristol, Va.
