ll Mar 1862. There exists a William Parrish of Berrien, GA in Co C 29th GA Vol Infantry. It is not certain that this is the same William Parrish. Other family researchers have suggested his middle name as James or Carl, but I have not found these names in research.

Huxford's Pioneers of Wiregrass GA Vol 3 p 253-4; bio of William Parrish 1826-1864, states William was born in Lowndes, GA in 1826, and died at his home Berrien, GA in Apr 1864. He was a son of Henry Parrish and Nancy Williams served as Tax Collector of Berrien, GA 1857-1858, and he served as a Judge of Berrien Inferior Court 1863 until his death in 1864. William married Rebecca DeVane 1831-Apr 1859, and William married Martha Gaskins Connell [widow of Thomas K Connell] on 17 Feb 1864. William died six weeks later [abt the later part of Mar]. William Parrish, and his wife, Rebecca, were buried in Lois Cem in Berrien GA. His brother, Ezekiel W and Absalom, were the administrators of his estate.

Note: Lois Cem is now known as Pleasant Cem. Neither William nor Rebecca's sites are marked. Huxford usually posted CSA info in the biographies of his subjects. Since Huxford does not list any CSA service, I think probably the subject did not serve.

William Parrish, the subject, has been confused with another William Parrish of Alabama. Please see # 62024838.
Research verifying two different men follows:

1850 CENSUS:1850 Randolph, Al: William-14 b Alabama with parents Harris & Elizabeth Parris.
1850 Lowndes, GA: William-29 b GA with wife Rebecca.

1860 CENSUS: 1860 Marshall, AL: William-21 with wife Mary an no children next door to Harris & Elizabeth Parris.
1860 Berrien, GA William-38 GA no wife [William & Rebecca married Apr 1859.]

CSA RECORDS: William Parrish b.1836 in Alabama enlisted in CSA as PVT Co C, 22 Alabama Infantry.
William Parrish b 1826 in listed CSA Berrien,GA Muster Roll on Mar 1862-no enlistment found

DEATH: William Parrish 1836 b. Alabama died in GA 27 July, 1864 serving in CSA.
William Parrish 1826 b. GA died April or May 1864 serving as Inferior Court Judge in Berrien, GA.

Definitely two differnt men as they are found in different places at the same time, different ages, and different family members.

A third William Parrish found in CSA as Pvt Co C, 47 Reg GA Infantry and mustered out a Apr 1865. This man was still living after the death of the above mention Williams.
