LEWIS - Matthew Joseph, died on December 2, 2014. God had a new plan for Matt and called him home. He passed surrounded by love and singing and we ask you all to "Keep the music playing!"
Amazing son of Mary and Arthur Lewis, best friend and brother of Karleen, perfect and loving boyfriend to Kaileigh O'Hare and an inspiring friend to many.
At the age of three, Matt fell in love with "live theater" and declared "This is what I want to do!". He pursued his dreams through school performances and community theater most recently playing the Athlete in the Breakfast Club.
Although he was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at the age of 6, that disease did not define him nor deter him from his goals. He excelled academically, musically and socially. Although his mission on this earth was fulfilled by the age of 17, his influence and impact was far-reaching.
Services held at St. James Funeral Home, St. James, NY. Mass held at Assumption Church, Centereach, NY. Interment at St. James Episcopal Cemetery, St. James, NY.
