CARTWRIGHT, FRED. Private. No 202823. 1/4th Battalion King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry. Son of Mr and Mrs James Cartwright, Dogley Farm, Kirkburton. Assisted his father on the farm. Married, with two children. Enlisted September, 1916, and embarked for France in January, 1917. Killed in action at Nieuport, 23.7.1917, aged 29 years.
