Born Rous, N.S.W.; son of Patrick J. & Mary Thomson. He enlisted in the AIF on 4 August 1915 and embarked from Brisbane for active service abroad with the 9th Infantry Battalion - 10 to 12 Reinforcements per HMAT "Warilda" (A69). He later transferred to the 49th Battalion. He was killed in action Belgium, aged 24 years.
