PROVO -- Richard BROWN, 81, pioneer mining man and farmer of Mount Pleasant, died Tuesday at a local hospital of causes incident to age.
Mr. BROWN was born May 10, 1855, at Glasgow, Scotland. He came to Utah in 1875, after joining the L.D.S. church in his native land and settled in Mount Pleasant, where he had resided until four years ago when he came to Provo to live with his daughter, Mrs. Anna PULSIPHER of Springville Road.
He was an active member of the L.D.S. church and was a high priest at the time of his death. He married Annie HUTCHINSON in the Salt Lake Endowment House, May 04, 1877. She died July 08, 1933. He filled a mission to Scotland for the L.D.S. church from 1908 to 1910.
Surviving are ten sons and daughters, D. H. BROWN, Roosevelt; Richard BROWN, Spring Canyon; Keith BROWN and Mrs. PULSIPHER, Springville; Roy and Walter BROWN, Mount Pleasant; Maurice and Alexander BROWN, Nampa, Idaho; Alvin BROWN, Price; Mrs. Agnes SHELLEY, Richfield, Idaho, and Mrs. Mary HANKS, Salt Lake City. Sixty-two grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in the Mount Pleasant L.D.S. North Ward Chapel. Burial will be in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery under the direction of the Berg Mortuary.
