Emigrated with his parents on the Ship Australia, arriving in New York City 9 March 1863, during the Civil War.

He was a wire drawer and lived in Quinsigamond. Owen died at the age of 24. He was not married and had no children. His Worcester death record indicates he was buried in St. John's Cemetery.
