Dr. Vicki Ellen Bergdolt Bowman, 46, of Natchitoches, LA, died Sunday, July 30, 2000, at Houston, TX, following a six-year battle with cancer. Born Jan. 15, 1965, in West Lafayette, she was a graduate of West Lafayette High School. She graduated from Purdue University with a bachelor's degree in communications, a master's degree in education, and a doctorate in counselor education.
Dr. Bowman also worked in the consumer and family sciences department at Purdue. Later, she taught at Northern Illinois University and, for the past ten years, in the student personnel services program at Northwestern State University at Natchitoches.
She married Robert Bowman on May 8, 1988, and he survives. Also surviving are a son, Zachary Bowman; a daughter, Kate Bowman; her parents, Vollmar and Beth Bergdolt of Shaker Heights, OH; two sisters, Charlotte Bergdolt Sexton of Junction City, OR, and Maribeth Berg of Shaker Heights; and a brother, Mark Bergdolt of Lafayette, CO.
