MRS. SAMUEL BURNS, SR. DIES AFTER SHORT ILLNESS
Mrs. Mary Denman Burns, wife of Samuel Burns, sr., died late Sunday afternoon at her residence, 513 South Fortieth street. Mrs. Burns received a paralytic stroke last Thursday, which caused her death. Up until Thursday she had seemed to be in very good health and her death will come as a shock to the many friends she had made during the forty-two years she has lived in this city.
Mrs. Burns was born in New Jersey in 1849. She came to Omaha in 1870 to teach school, and a year later became the wife of Samuel Burns. She is survived by her husband and four children, R. T. Burns, Samuel Burns, jr., Mrs. O. T. Eastman and Mrs. C. T. Kountze. The funeral, which will be private, will be held from the residence at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning, with interment at Forest Lawn.
The Rev. J. A. Jenkins of St. Mary's Congregational church will officiate.
