Eugene 'Gene' Ray Block Sr., 71, of Omaha, Neb., went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by his children on Wednesday, Dec. 3, at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha, Neb.
Gene was born on Oct. 29, 1943, to Leonard and Thelma (White) Block in Missouri Valley. Gene worked for Paxton and Vierling Steel Company as a steel fitter for 40 years.
Gene is preceded in death by his parents; son, Robert Anthony (Tony) Block; brother, Robert Block; sisters, Evelyn Mace, Ellie Pleas, and Rosemary Anne Stevens.
Hennessey Funeral Home in Missouri Valley was in charge of the arrangements.
