Mr. Harold Gene Vaughn, age 76 of 308 Alman Street, Apt 14S, Jonesville, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at the home of his brother, Cook Vaughn.

Mr. Vaughn was born in Union, SC August 31, 1938, a son of the late William Paul Vaughn and Mamie Jeanette Gault Vaughn Boughman. He was a 1957 graduate of Jonesville High School and retired from Enoree Mills. Mr. Vaughn was a member of Foster’s Chapel United Methodist Church.

Surviving are three sisters: Frances Craig and husband Lewis of Moore, Donna Harris and husband Grady and Virginia Beers all of Spartanburg; a brother, Paul “Cook” Vaughn of Union; a niece, Peggy Mullinax and husband Steve of Spartanburg; a special caregiver, Mary Price of Union and a special friend, Frances Smith of Charlotte. Mr. Vaughn was predeceased by three sisters: Louise Petty Kirby, Ila Mae Rector and Mittie Ruth Boughman and six brothers, R.D. Vaughn, James Vaughn, Bobby Vaughn and a set of triplets.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Foster’s Chapel United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Glenn Ribelin. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Vaughn’s nephews will serve as active pallbearers.

Visitation will be held 12:30-1:45 PM Saturday in the church prior to the service.

Memorials may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 103B Boyce Street, Union, SC 29379.
