of Jackson, passed away peacefully at his home under the loving care of his family and Southern Care Hospice Monday, December 1, 2014 at the age of 84. Survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Ruth E. Faley (Woodring); three daughters, Kathleen (Lee) Parks, Cynthia Shuberg and fiancé Ernie Arno, and Patricia Kelley; three sons, John Faley, Edward Faley Jr. and Michael Faley; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, Irene Lewis and John Fealey.

EJ retired from Consumers Power Company in 1989 with 38 years of service. He was a lifetime member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church where he was an usher for over 50 years. Previously he was the athletic bus driver for St. Johns High School and Lumen Christi High School for many years. He was a car owner and builder for the original Jackson Motor Speedway. He enjoyed automobile racing and worked at Michigan International Speedway for many years on the fire crew. EJ worked for over two decades at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in the pace car garage. He also loved motorcycles and raced them in his earlier years.

Mr. Faley is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where a Prayer Service will be held on Friday, December 5, 2014 at 12:30 PM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 1:00 PM with Father James Shaver officiating. Interment will take place at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM with a Rosary Service at 6:30 PM.

Contributions to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church would be appreciated.
