Catherine “Ruth” Wade 81, of Kokomo, passed away at 3:15pm Friday, October 1, 2010 at Northwoods Village. She was born July 17, 1929 in Mascot, TN, to the late Cecil E. Hodge and Tavie (Housewright) Hodge. Ruth was a member of the Three Points Baptist Church, and also attended Brookside Free Methodist Church. She was a member of the Common Threads. Her marriage to Johnny J. Wade was on Dec. 16, 1949 in Luttrell, TN. He preceded her in death on June 3, 1999.

Survivors include four sons; Jerry Wade, Bobby Wade, Kyle Wade, Martin Wade, all of Kokomo, a daughter; Sharon Rust-Birl, husband James of Kokomo, daughter-in-law Dessie Wade, also of Kokomo, two brothers; Alvin Hodge, wife Artie, of Knoxville, TN, and Lloyd Hodge, wife Connie also of Knoxville, TN, three sisters; Johnnie Burnett of Witchita, KS, Mary Hill, of Knoxville, TN, and Dorothy Taylor, husband Faris of Corryton, TN, along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons; David Leon Wade, and Ronald Junior Wade, two daughters; Freda Hutchinson, and Marshell Laverne Wade, three sisters; Evelyn Engstrand, Barbara Worthington, Margaret Hodge, three brothers; Leon, Ed, and Charles Hodge

Visitation October 4, 2010 at Ellers Mortuary Main Street Chapel, 725 South Main Street. Services will be at 1pm Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at the Mortuary with Pastor Doug Benham officiating. Burial will take place in Crown Point Cemetery.
