Adored wife, mother, daughter, sibling, and friend, Amy Powell, embarked on her newest adventure on December 4th, 2014, just shy of 53 years of age.

Member of Thrive Church in Greenville, she is survived by her husband, Robert Powell of Greer, SC; children Jamie Jackson (Barry, Inman, SC), Laura McKelvey (Nate, Greenville, SC), Sarah Mullins (Brandon, Vine Grove, KY), Cory Powell (Joy, Greenville, SC), Bryan Powell (Greenville, SC); mother Glenda Archer (Ruther Glen, VA), father Tony Archer (Fort Myers, FL) Sisters Jill Rutherford (Rick, Fredericksburg, VA) and Lynn Myers (Chuck, Tampa, FL), brother Jeff Archer (Richmond, VA), grandson Casen (Nate and Laura) and soon-to-be-born granddaughter Gwendolyn (Cory and Joy), numerous other relatives and countless friends.

Described as an angel by those who knew her, and as an angelic pirate by those who knew her better. Her petite frame stood in stark contrast to her largeness of spirit, generosity of her heart, overwhelming grace and mercy, and indomitable will.

Brave and unwavering, faithful in her trust in her Heavenly Father, Amy is resting peacefully after her long battle. There are no words to express what a loss to our lives this is, but because of her, we can carry on.

Amy, we anxiously await the chance to see you again. Your humility and modesty kept you from fully realizing what a great impact you made in your short time on earth. You bettered the lives of all who you encountered. You lent your caring spirit and sweet smile to any soul fortunate enough to cross your path. We are better because of you.
Godspeed, Amy. We wish you fair winds and following seas. We also know that if you could, you'd say of your life "some of it's magic, some of it's tragic, but I had a good life all the way".

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at The Wood Mortuary conducted by Rev. Steve Soto.

Graveside service will be held Sunday, December 7, 2014, at Mt. Zion Church Cemetery in Crawfish Valley, VA.

Visitation will be held 9:45-10:45 a.m. Saturday at The Wood Mortuary.
