SHIREY THOMAS JOSEPH Age 70 of Mooresville, North Carolina and formerly of Dearborn, Michigan. Peacefully passed away with his loving partner of nearly 20 years by his side on at Carolinas' Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. Tom was born September 8th, 1944 in Detroit, MI to Carl and Gertrude (McKay) Shirey. Tom attended Sacred Heart High School in Dearborn, MI and the University of Detroit Mercy. He served his country in Vietnam and worked at Ford Motor Company for over 36 years until retiring in 2000. He leaves behind his very best friend John Thompson, his sister Patricia Wright and his former wife Gail Shirey as well as many relatives and dear friends. Tom was predeceased by his brothers Carl, Harry and James. Visitation will be Friday 4-8 p.m. at the Dearborn Chapel of the Howe Peterson Funeral Home, 22546 Michigan Ave. , Dearborn. Funeral Mass Saturday 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Michigan Avenue in Dearborn. In state at 10:30 a.m. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield.
