Jeffrey S. Tyler, Ret. MSG, U.S. Army, CISSP, 66-years-old, passed away on Nov. 21, 2014, surrounded by his loving family.
Jeff was born in Natick, Mass., on May 17, 1948, to David B. and Eleanor G. (Schalscha) Tyler.
He served 21 years in the U.S. Army and earned the Bronze Star while on tour in Vietnam. Jeff served in 5th Signal Command and was a member of ISC2 for 10 years. Jeff met and married Kathryn M. Lien in Fredericksburg, Denmark, on July 21, 1977, while they were both serving in the U.S. Army.
Jeff served as COO to Collective Technologies in Austin, Texas, and was co-founder and co-owner of HPAZNET, a local wireless ISP in the Hereford-Palominas area. He enjoyed building G-gauge model railroads, was an avid cribbage player, and loved all things complicated.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Kathryn; daughters, Bonnie Tyler and Kristen (Brent) Armstrong; sons, David and Benjamin Tyler; brother, Tim (AnnMarie) Tyler; and granddaughters, Tabitha and Victoria Armstrong. Brother-in-law to Terese Morden, Robin Lien, Barry (Lisa) Lien, Jeffrey (Jill) Lien and Michelle (Richard) Burdick. He is also missed by other loving family and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Dec. 8, 2014, at 1 p.m at Old Post Cemetery at Fort Huachuca, Ariz. All are welcome.
