Marcia Lou Thompson, age 78, of Sidney, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 3, 2014. Marcia was born September 21, 1936, in West Liberty, Ohio, the daughter of the late Carl Madden and Maryvon Clark Madden.

Marcia was married to the late Glenn Thompson. He preceded her in death on September 13, 2005.

Marcia is survived by one son, Tom and his wife Brenda Thompson, of Sidney; grandchildren, Arie Thompson, Taylor Thompson, Amber Thompson, Lexi Thompson, Trevor Thompson; two step-grandchildren, Jason and Amy Becker, of Sidney and Jennifer and Jim Kenton, of McCartyville; four step-great-grandchildren, Dominic Becker, Carly Becker, Caleb Kenton, and Carter Kenton; one sister, Pat and Howard Fairchild, of Ithaca, New York.

Marcia was preceded in death by one son, Terry Thompson and one brother, Noland Madden.

Marcia was a member of the Sidney First United Methodist Church and the St. Paul's United Church of Christ, in Sidney.

Marcia was the Property Manager for her husband's construction company and always handled the scheduling and day to day operations. She was a big fan of the University of Michigan athletics, 'Go Blue.' She also enjoyed listening to the "Oak Ridge Boys" and collecting antiques.

Most of all, Marcia loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was their biggest supporter in all of their many school functions and athletic activities. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She will be deeply missed by them all.

Funeral services for Marcia will be conducted Saturday, December 6, 2014, at 10:00 a.m., at the Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney, with Rev. Jane Madden officiating. Burial will follow immediately at Graceland Cemetery, Sidney.

Visiting hours for family and friends will be held on Friday, December 5, from 5-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
