James Pounds proudly served his country in the Air Force for 8 years and upon completing his service to his country began his service to his God and became an ordained minister with the United Pentecostal Church and pastored multiple churches during his over 50 years of ministry.

James Pounds and Joyce Ellis were married on June 10, 1961 in Wichita Falls and from that wonderful union were born four sons.

James is survived by his sweet wife of 53 years; four sons, Jeff and his wife Kim of Mansfield, TX, Randy and wife Kassie of Wichita Falls, TX, Greg and wife Brandi of Holliday, TX, and Steven and wife Michelle of Shreveport, LA. The pride and joy of his life were those who called him PawPaw, nine beautiful grandchildren, Ashley, Andre, Leighton, Kensli, Jonathan, Ethan, Bryson, and the twins Harrison and Lyla; two brothers, Bill Pounds and wife Dee, and Charles Lynn Pounds and wife Stella; one sister, Irene Young and numerous nieces and nephews.
