Edward “Ed” Yarbrough, 81, of NC Highway 47, died Tuesday December 2, 2014 at the Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday at Center Hill Baptist Church, where he was a member, with Rev. Brian Alexander officiating services. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel.

Mr. Yarbrough was born December 3, 1932 in Davidson County to Roland Bryan Yarbrough, and Bessie Lou Jarrett Yarbrough. He was a member of the United States Army, having served as staff sergeant. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Ronnie Yarbrough and two brothers, Lee Yarbrough and Bill Yarbrough.

Surviving is his wife Gail Gourley Yarbrough, of the home; three sons, Paul Yarbrough and wife Sandra of Lexington, Tim Yarbrough and companion Alvin of Virginia and Jim Yarbrough and wife Dana of Lexington; one brother Jack Yarborough and wife Becky of Lexington; a sister Elsie Miller and husband Bill of Lexington and a sister-in-law Geneva Yarborough of Lexington; three grandchildren Chris Yarbrough and wife Ashley, Reed Yarbrough and Ryan Yarbrough and two great-grandchildren, Bethany Yarbrough and Phillip Yarbrough all of Lexington.
