Harold D. Whitfield, age 87 of Rockwall, TX, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2014. He was born November 5, 1927 in Wingate, TX, to Ernest Elmer & Ruby (Condra) Whitfield. Harold proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He graduated from Southern Methodist University. Harold was the central district sales manager and wrote the training manual for district managers at the Todd Division of Burroughs Corporation. After his retirement at age 62, he became a dedicated volunteer for 20 years with the National Alliance on Mental Illness and First United Methodist Church of Rockwall, where he was a member.

He is survived by his wife: Dee (Newman) Whitfield of Rockwall, TX; children: Greg Whitfield & wife Joan Benson of Kansas City, MO, and Cindy Rodgers & husband Robert of Nevada, TX; grandchildren: Jessica Whitfield and Cynthia Trifilio; sisters: Coca Kimbrough and Tina Howard; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Harold was preceded in death by his parents and son, Dan Whitfield in 2012.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm, Monday, December 8, 2014 at Rest Haven Funeral Home – Rockwall Chapel with Dr. Joe Pool officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park.
