Mrs. Annie Jo George Abney, age 87, of Rome, formerly of Silver Creek, passed away Monday morning, December 1, 2014, at her residence.
Mrs. Abney was born in Alabama City, AL on March 27, 1927, daughter of the late Edward Webster George and the late Bertha Beatrice Coheley George. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Megan Nicole Abney, and by a brother, Grover W. George. Mrs. Abney was a homemaker and was a member of Pleasant Valley South Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, to whom she was married on April 8, 1950; a daughter and her husband; 3 sons; a sister; 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
A memorial service will be held at 4pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel.
