Suzanne Ruth Greene passed away on July 22, 2011 in Ebeid Hospice Residence in Sylvania, Ohio. She was born on June 6, 1924 to Louis and Helen Dorf in Toledo, Ohio and was a graduate of Scott High School. She worked for Ohio Bell as a Service Representative for 25 years. Sue was very active in The Jewish Community before and after her retirement. She also volunteered for many other organizations and President of Darlington House auxiliary and Ohio Bell Pioneers. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Ben B. Greene. She is survived by her daughter, Janis (Robert Weaver); son, Terry (Diane) Greene; grand-children, Sara Greene and Aaron Greene. Also, surviving are her nephew, Dr. Melvin (Patti) Gerbie; nieces, Charlene (Matthew) Epstein and Rita Winzelberg and several great nieces and nephews and special niece, Gail Gerbie who was more like a daughter to her. Sue's family would like to thank the staff of Spring Meadows Extended Care for their love and support over the last 10 years. We would especially like to thank our angels, Debbie, Juanita, and Tina and Diane. There were many others that were just as great. The funeral will be held at the Robert H. Wick/ Wisniewski Funeral Home, 2426 North Reynolds Rd. (419-535-5840) on Sunday, July 24, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Eagle Point Cemetery, Rossford. The family will receive visitors at the home of Jan and Bob Weaver following the services Sunday evening until 8:00 p.m. and again on Monday, July 25th from 12 Noon until 8:00 p.m. Please consider donations to Temple Shomer Emunim, Ebeid Hospice, and Spring Meadows Extended Care. It has been a long road, she did it with dignity and bravado.
