Frank Elmo Goza, 71, of San Antonio, passed away on March 14, 2003 after a short but courageous battle with lung cancer.

He was born July 28, 1931 in Anson, TX to Charlie and Mary Lou Goza. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bob and Glen Goza and sister, Patty White.

Frank was employed for many years by Martin Linen Supply Company and later owned Joy Cactus Company. In business, he cherished the special working relationship he had with each and every customer. He valued the simple treasures in this life. He loved the Lord, his family, his country and flag, trips to Big Bend, country and bluegrass music, baseball, animals and nature. In 1990, with the support of family and friends (and a long walk from San Antonio to Nashville), Frank was able to realize a lifelong dream of being introduced on stage by country music legend, Roy Acuff, and performing two of his own songs for a packed house at the Grand Ole Opry.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 52 years, Joyce; son, Frank D. and wife Susie of San Antionio; daughters, Mary "Toni" Hewell and husband Joe of Victoria, Angela Ball and husband Jack of Rio Medina. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Eric Goza (San Antonio), SPC Frank Ball (Camp Cassey, South Korea) and wife Ilona, April and husband PFC Bucky Allen (Fort Bragg, NC), J.B. Hewell (Lubbock), Court Hewell and Kate Hewell (Victoria); great-grandchild, Jack Gregory Ball (San Antonio); sister, Hattie Smithee (Arlington); brother, Guy Goza (Arlington); numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

These Services will be conducted by Kenneth Jones, Church of Christ preacher from Abilene, TX and Church of Christ elders from the Shenandoah Church of Christ in San Antonio.
