Rosemary M. (Jansen) Van Beek is the daughter of Peter William and Veronica Alvina (Thoma) Jansen. Rosemary M. (Jansen) Van Beek is the granddaughterof Paul and Anna (Folz) Thoma.


Rosemary M. Van Beek, nee Jansen, 87, of West Bend, passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at the Samaritan Health Center, West Bend.

She was born on December 29, 1919 in Barton to the late Peter and Veronica (nee Thoma) Jansen. She was united in marriage to Ervin Van Beek on October 28, 1944 at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Church.

Rosemary worked at Bauer’s Bakery and then at the J.C. Penney Store in West Bend for many years. She loved flowers and gardening. She also enjoyed time at the cottage on Long Lake and fishing. She was a member of St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Parish and the Christian Mothers.

She is survived by her husband, Ervin; two children, Tom (Barbara) Van Beek of West Bend, and Lori (Stan “Whitey”) Heisler of Silver Creek; three grandchildren, Greg Van Beek of West Bend, Lynn Bannenberg of Silver Creek, and Kevin (Melissa Cotter) Heisler of Batavia; two brothers, Steve Jansen of West Bend and James Jansen of Chicago; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Jansen of West Bend, several close nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Peter Jansen and Jerome Jansen, and a sister-in-law, Lucille McCarty

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 23 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Church, 1610 Monroe Street, West Bend. Rev. Michael Moran will be the celebrant and burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in the town of Barton. Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service.

Memorials to St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Church or St. Mary’s School would be appreciated.

The family would like to thank to the staff of the Samaritan Health Center and Cedar Community Hospice for their wonderful care.
