George Calvert, a pioneer of Washington, and with his family a resident of Albion for a year past, died after a lingering illness at his home last Thursday morning. The funeral was held from the United Brethren church last Saturday, Rev. Hughey conducting the services. Mr. Calvert leaves a wife and eight children, three sons and five
daughters, to mourn their loss, besides many friends who will ever miss the quiet sufferer whose long-time friendship was so loyal.
