Beverley Ann Burgess, 77, of Greenwood, peacefully passed away December 2, 2014 and gracefully entered the presence of Jesus.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Maude Johnson of Indianapolis and sisters Betty Murphy and Marge Stonehouse both of Chula Vista, CA, Carol Berry of Greenwood.
Surviving is her loving husband of 59 years, Charles Burgess; two children, Brian (Jennifer) Burgess of Fishers and Andrea (Sean) Haines of Greenwood; six grandchildren, Kyle Haines, Caleb Burgess, Stephanie Haines, Delaney Burgess, Olivia Burgess and Tyler Haines; and her brother, William G. (Imogene) Johnson of Greenwood. She also left behind several nieces, nephews, and friends that were very dear to her.
She was a wonderful, loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend who always made sure that they knew they were loved by her. She was a giver and a very caring woman whose heart overflowed with love for her family. She was a Cincinnati Reds lover and followed that team most of her life. She was a member of Southport United Methodist Church.
Visitation: 12:30-2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 4 at G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home at The Gardens at Olive Branch , followed by the funeral service at 2:30 p.m. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made to Never Give Up Hope, a 501c3 that was founded by her granddaughter to help build a school in Liberia, West Africa.
