Major League Baseball Player. The outfielder played for the Cincinnati Reds in 1941 and 1945 to 1947. He served in the military from 1942 through most of the 1945 season. The left-handed hitter batted .267 in 23 games in 1941. His best year was 1946, when he hit .250 in 102 games with 12 homers, eight triples and 34 runs batted in. He belted 11 more homers in 1947, but his average dipped to .205. On September 1 of that year, he was involved in a triple play pulled by the Chicago Cubs. Ray Mueller hit a liner to shortstop Bobby Sturgeon, who stepped on second to double up Eddie Miller. He then fired to third baseman Peanuts Lowrey, who caught Lukon off third. It marked the third time the Reds had been victimized by a triple play that season. His lifetime ledger was .236 with 23 homers and 70 RBIs.
