Patricia Ann Kersey, 78, of Franklin, died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2003, at Indiana Masonic Home.

Born May 22, 1925, in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Ralph Everett and Ruth Margaret (Jones) Jones. She married Richard Kersey on June 8, 1971, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 11, 1982.

Survivors include one niece, Jody Jones of Northville, Mich.; one nephew, Ralph Jones of Indianapolis; and one aunt, Helen Cather Garner of Farmington Hills, Mich., former Indianapolis resident.

Mrs. Kersey moved to Franklin from Waldron in 1995.

She had been a teacher at Waldron schools and former principal in the Indianapolis School District.

Mrs. Kersey graduated from Marietta College with a bachelor's degree and from Butler University with a master's degree.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, where she was a former choir director; Brookside Chapter of Order of Eastern Star; past regent of National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution; and past president of Zonta.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dr. Dan McCollough.

Burial will be in Van Pelt Cemetery in Shelby County.
