Eric was born in St. Georgen, Yugoslavia on June 23, 1939, son of the late Dr. Nicholas J. and Elizabeth (Mayer) Beck. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Eric married Diane (Costello) Pacheco on April 25, 1987 and they were married for 27 years. He graduated from Mendel Catholic High School in Chicago, IL in 1956. Eric attended Loyola University obtaining his Bachelor’s Degree in 1960 then worked several years before attending medical school at the University of Graz, Austria graduating in 1974. Dr. Beck served his residency at St. Joseph Hospital from 1974-1977. After graduating, he opened his family practice in Burton, MI and was there for 22 years. During the 80’s and 90’s he worked and helped create the After Hours Clinic East. He was a former member of the American Medical Society and Michigan State Medical Society. Dr. Beck served on many boards and committees through the years. He had many hobbies, he loved traveling the world, woodworking, stamp collecting, working in his yard, watching soccer and his Chicago Bears, boating on Lake Lapeer with his family and friends and spending winters in Florida. Dr. Beck especially loved attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and tournaments. He loved practicing medicine and delivering over 1500 babies, including the first baby at the new Genesys Regional Medical Center. Dr. Beck continued to pray for all his patients, family and friends. He was a true gentleman and will be deeply missed!
