Funeral services for Ralph James Albin, 96, West Plains, Missouri will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 6, 2014, in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Albin died at 8:45 p.m., Monday, December 1, 2014, at West Vue Nursing Center.
He was born October 22, 1918, at Pottersville, Missouri, to Emery Lorraine Albin and Lucy Evaline Zumwalt Albin. In 1951, he was married to Leona Lee, who preceded him in death on July 24, 1978. He married Charlotte Frentrop in 1981. He enjoyed bowling until the age of ninety-two and traveling; he was an avid Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals fan. Mr. Albin was of the Methodist faith.
He is survived by one daughter, Debra Melzig, husband, Michael, West Plains, Missouri; two grandchildren, Christopher Lee Smith, Tallahassee, Florida and Melissa Dock, husband, Chris, Fort Worth, Texas; one great-grandchild, Evelyn Marie Dock; his step-children, Ron and Ginger Frentrop, Steve and Robin Frentrop, Wes and Doris Frentrop and Debbie and Jim Crumb; three brothers, Porter Albin, wife, Maxine, West Plains, Glen Albin, wife, Fern, Mineral Wells, Texas and Dennis Albin, wife, Lois, Jacksonville, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents, wives, one brother, Charles “Shorty” Albin and three sisters, Doris McGregger, Blanche Wright and Evaleena Albin, precede him in death.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m., Saturday, prior to the service at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Highland Park Cemetery, Kansas City, Kansas.
