MADISON — Gertrude A. Guetzkow, age 92, died on April 2, 1999. She was born on February 26, 1907, in Jackson Township in the state of Iowa to Lars and Sigrid (Kjarvik) Aasen. She was married to Arthur Guetzkow in 1934 at the Jerico Lutheran Church in Iowa. She was employed at the Wisconsin State Highway Commission, and was a longtime member of the Holy Cross Evangelical Lutheran Church. She is survived by a son, Gene A. Guetzkow of Waukesha; three sisters, Ella (John) Gordon of New Hampton, Charlotte (Clifford) Ferkenstad of New Hampton, and Hanna (Arthur) Gordon of Madison; two brothers, Oscar Aasen of Knoxville, Iowa, and Lloyd Aasen of New Hampton; as well as nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and two brothers. Selmar Aasen of Fredericksburg, Iowa and Merle Aasen of Madison. Funeral services will be held at HOLY CROSS EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2670 Milwaukee Street, Madison at 11:00 on Tuesday, April 6, 1999, Reverend Mark Bartels presiding. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.
