William Melvin “Billy” Weidner was born February 26, 1927 at Fairfax, South Dakota to William G. and Hilda (Frasch) Weidner and he died November 30, 2014 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Burke, South Dakota at the age of 87 years.
Billy grew up on the family farm east of Fairfax with his sister, Viola Wittmuss. He attended Fairfax Public School and graduated in 1945.
He was then drafted into the Army. He met and was later married to Marilyn Rose Jensen on June 16, 1958.
They lived in Fairfax where he owned and operated Weidner Radio and Hardware.
Billy was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Fairfax, where he was a very active member. He was known throughout the community as being the cable guy or the tv repairman. He loved inventing new gadgets, as well as setting up his sound system for the rodeo and other special events.
The pride and joy of his life was his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed going out to the farm and watching the animals.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers-in-law.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at 10:30 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fairfax.
Burial will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Fairfax. Visitation will be Tuesday beginning at 6 PM, with a prayer service at 7 PM, at the church.
