A native of Telfair County where he lived most of his life, Mr. Stone was the son of the late Lamar Fontaine Stone and the late Ossie Ray Stone. Retired from the U.S. Navy, he was a lifelong farmer and owner/operator of a country store for many years. Mr. Stone was preceded in death by his wife, Willa Grace Horton Stone.
Survivors include his children, Gene (Mary) Stone of Macon, Terena Stone of Chatsworth and Samantha (Houston) Burt of Chatsworth; brother, Akridge "Spooky" Stone of Mt. Pleasant, SC; grandchildren, Michael Stone, Steven Stone and Jason Stone, all of Macon; and great-grandchildren, Abigail Stone, Brooklyn Stone, Caroline Stone, Natalie Stone, Caroline Burt, Elijah Burt, and Zeb Burt.
