Barbara L. Chinski, 72, of Chuckey Pike, Chuckey, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at Laughlin Memorial Hospital.

She was born Barbara L. Burke on May 3, 1940. Originally from Shelter Island, New York, Barbara was the daughter of the late James D. Burke and Rose L. Burke.

She was married to Ronald Chinski. They moved to Chuckey from Lawyersville, New York, fifteen years ago.

Barbara was a homemaker and had a great love of family and friends and never knew a stranger.

She was particularly talented in designing and crocheting beautiful afghans for family, friends, friend's special occasions and church raffles. As an active member of the Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church, she was involved in their various activities and made many church-family friends there.

For several years, she and her husband enjoyed living and traveling extensively, in and out of the country, as his employment required.

In addition to her husband, she was survived by: a brother and sister-in-law: James Burke and Patricia Burke of Antelope, CA; one sister: Shirley Butler of Chuckey, TN; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law: Joseph and Marge Chinski and Wayne Chinski, all of New York; and several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Betty Clark.
