Former CIA intelligence officer, ambassador, and American theatrical producer. He served as the United States Ambassador to Seychelles (April 1, 1976- April 26, 1977), United States Ambassador to Kenya (December 19, 1973- April 26, 1977), United States Ambassador to Trinidad and Tobago (February 15, 1972- December 27, 1973) and the United States Ambassador to Madagascar (December 15, 1969- June 1, 1971). He was a Lieutenant in the Marine Corps during WW ll. He won the Purple Heart and was involved in the battle of Iwo Jima. He attended Brown University and Brooks School.
