Luella Burns, daughter of David
and Christina "Ross" Burns was born
on Oct 6, 1885 at Alta, Iowa. She spent
her school years in the Alta com
munity and graduated from the Alta
high school in 1915. Luella moved with
her parents to the Storm Lake com
munity where she lived with and
cared for them until their deaths.
Shortly thereafter, she went to live
with her sister and husband, Alta and
Bruno Thiede. When Bruno Thiede
passed away Luella and Alta moved to
their long time home on Michigan
street. They lived there until Alta
passed away and falling health
required Luella to reside at the
Methodist Manor.
Luella passed away on Friday, Dec.
29, 1978 at the Buena Vista County
hospital.
She leaves to mourn her passing her
nephews, Fritz Samuels, Richard Sctv
mitz of Storm Lake and Dale Burns of
Lake Park and two nieces living in
Illinois
