(Obituary) Anna Margaret Stroud dies in Texas
Anna Margaret Stroud, former Randolph County public administrator, died Aug 24, 2003 in San Antonio, Tex, where she had lived the past few years. Mrs Stroud was public administrator in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Her husband, the late Thomas B Stroud, was serving his third term as public administrator of Randolph County when he died Dec 9, 1978. At that time Mrs Stroud was appointed by Gov Joe Teasdale to finish his term. She served until December 1981
Anna Margaret was born Dec 24, 1916 in Fostoria (Montgomery County) Texas a daughter of the late Rev H.D. and Kathleen Munro Tucker. She was a graduate of Brownwood, Tex High School and had one year of college there before moving with her family to Missouri in 1936. The bishop transferred Rev. Tucker to Missouri. Mrs Stroud taught at rural schools and attended the University of Missouri during the summer. After moving to Moberly she received her associate degree in education at Moberly Area Community College
Anna Margaret was acting secretary of the American Red Cross for several years in the early 1950s, president of the Randolph County Women's Democratic Club and served on boards of the American Cancer Society, Randolph County Historical Society and Railroad Museum. She was a genealogist and worked as a teachers aide at Moberly High School more than four years.
In April 1950 she became a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Moberly. She was active in the church, serving on various boards, missions, Vacation Bible School and the administrative board. She and her husband were in charge of the youth program three years and she was church historian. Anna Margaret also established a church historical library and was chairman of the regular library.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law,

grandchildren John Stroud and his wife Erin and
Jimmy Stroud
great-grandson Adam Stroud, all of Sand Antonia, Tex and
brothers Dan Tucker and his wife, Opal, of Nashville, Tenn and
Frank Tucker of Hermann
three nieces, four great-nieces and nephews and a number of cousins in Texas
She was preceded in death by her husband and a sister Mary Elizabeth Devore
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Million-Taylor Funeral Home in Moberly with Rev. George Burgin, Methodist minister, officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials to Lakehill Methodist Church in San Antonio are suggested.
....Among Anna Margaret's many inerests as a historian she was a significant factor in associating her "Texas McKee" heritage with the pioneer Adam McKee family of Abbeville, SC
