"Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday at Austintown Community Church for Norma J. Sharp who passed away Wednesday at her home. Norma was born September 12, 1925 in Donora, (Washington Co.) PA a daughter of the late Maurice and Dorothy (Noble) Bergman. A 1943 graduate of Chaney High School, she was an executive secretary for the Truscon Corp. Norma was a member of the Austintown Community Church, Youngstown Saxon Club, Lake Milton Boat Club, and the Vietnam Veteran Association. She volunteered numerous hours of her time working for veterans in the VA Hospitals, making sure they all had a handmade afghan for their room. She spent her time writing poetry, doing crafts, making flower arrangements, spending time with her family and participating in activities at Easter Seals. Her husband Charles Sharp, whom she married August 9, 1947, passed away November 9, 2001. Norma is survived by three children: Timothy (Linda) Sharp of Girard, Keith Randall (Janet) Sharp of Austintown and Cindy (Jeff) Meese of Austintown; eight grandchildren: Jennifer, Heather, Timothy, Casey, Sierra, Jeff, Ryan, and Adam; and six great grandchildren: Brittany, Emily, AJ, Morgan, Airianna, and Justice. Besides her parents and husband, Norma is preceded in death by one brother Maurice "Bud" Bergman and one sister Sarah Bergman. The family would like to thank Celtic Care Givers, Easter Seals, and Southern Care Hospice for their care and compassion given to Norma. Memorial contributions may be made to Southern Care Hospice, 5401 Ashley Circle, Austintown, OH 44515 or Easter Seals, 721 Boardman Poland Rd, Poland, OH 44514 in Norma's name.
