Rites Friday For Ex-Local Man, 81

Isaac Daniel Hey, 81, former local retired farmer who had lived at Vernon, Ind., for several years, died today at 1:00 a.m. at an Osgood nursing home of a complication of diseases. He had been confined to the nursing home for six weeks.
Mr. Hey was born in Shelby township on February 18, 1880, a son of Daniel and Samantha Hey. He was married to Martha Becht and following her death he was married to Lyda Cockerham who also preceded in death. He is survived by three brothers, Henry Hey of R. R. 6, Cyrenus Hey of Flat Rock R. R . 1 and Elmer Hey of Columbus Road, and one sister, Mrs. Charles Beall of the Columbus Road. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was a member of the local First Evangelical and Reformed Church.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the Murphy Mortuary with the Rev. Duane Yegerlehner officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary after 4:30 p.m. Thursday. (The Shelbyville News, Aug 30, 1961)
