Mrs. Leona L. Platt, age sixty-six, wife of Holman Platt, died at her home in St. Paul Thursday evening at 7:00 o'clock after having suffered a heart attck Monday morning. Mrs. Platt had been in failing health for some time but her death was unexpected. She had been a resident of St. Paul for the past 26 years.
She was born on April 15, 1877, in Orange township, Rush county, the daughter of George and Ann Meal Lewis. On January 8, 1896, she was married to Mr. Platt, who survives with a daughter, Mrs. Ena Mae Smith, of Indianapolis. A son, Ralph Platt, died on July 26, 1941. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Edward and Paul Platt, of this city; Miss Deloris Smith, of Indianapolis, and Robert Platt, serving with the army inthe south Pacific; two brothers, William Lewis, of St. Omer, and George Lewis, of St. Paul, and several nieces and nephews.
One brother and sister preceded her in death.
Mrs. Platt was a member of the St. Paul Methodist Church where funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. C. W. Goff officiating. Burial will be made in Forest Hill cemetery in charge of D. E. Carmony of St. Paul.
